The Bluefield regional business roundtable is an opportunity for businesses in the Bluefield area to come together to discuss issues and share ideas around the manufacturing community. This open discussion and facilitated conversation is an effort to collect the voice of our manufacturing businesses as it relates to needed support and focused community effort. It will be an opportunity to talk together about challenges that are faced and to learn of opportunities to match support and services to business needs. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about resources that are available to assist their businesses based on their needs. The event is a Heart Project supported effort and will be facilitated by Heart Project Manager Amy Braswell and GENEDGE program manager, Sam Wolford. The event will be hosted and sponsored by the Town of Bluefield, Virginia, the Heart Project and GENEDGE. This will be the first in a series of discussions planned throughout 2018.
What is the Heart Project?
The project has begun outreach to prospective companies in the 16-county Southwest Virginia service territory. Three (3) coal-impacted businesses have been enrolled and receiving direct services, while 8 are in the process. There are several events scheduled throughout the region to introduce companies to the Heart Project and provide valuable information from which attendees can benefit. These events are free to manufacturers and supply chain companies impacted by decline in coal industry.
